A message from the Team
Rector…
Baptism, or christening, welcomes
the new member into the family of God, just as
you will be welcoming your baby into your own
family. We are very glad to help you at this
most important time of new beginnings in your
family’s life, and look forward with you to
planning your child’s baptism.
Here in the Papworth Team Ministry we gladly
baptise children and adults from all the
thirteen parishes which make up the area of our
team. We also sometimes baptise children or
grandchildren of regular members of our churches
who live outside our area, but always and only
where there is a strong living connection with a
particular parish and its church and with the
goodwill of the clergy of the parish in which
the parents live.

Planning your Child’s Baptism |
    |
The initial visit and arranging the date
When you make an enquiry about Baptism your minister
will arrange a home visit. An Baptism pack will be
sent to you containing lots of useful information
and an application form. Please fill out the
application form and return it to your minister. At
this visit you will be able to talk over a possible
date for the baptism service. Because baptism makes
us part of the family of God we always celebrate
them in public worship, so that God’s family are
present to greet the new member. If there are
special family reasons why some dates are more
important for you then please explain this to your
minister at this visit.
