Marriage Preparation Day As part of the build up to your marriage and to help us all be fully prepared for your special day we as a team run a marriage preparation day. The aim of the day is twofold. We go through the wedding service with you and will have there a whole variety of sources to help you choose hymns, music, readings and prayers for your service. During that time we can discuss and agree any other special elements that you would like included in your service. The core of the wedding service is material that for legal reasons we have to use as it is set (to make your marriage valid) but this leaves a lot that can be customised. The second aim of the day is to help prepare you not so much for the wedding as for married life and we will, through a variety of means, explore some of the principle issues in making and keeping successful marriages. Some of the time we will work as a large group and some of the time you will work as a couple. Comments about the day A light lunch will be provided and we also give you some literature that may be of help in the run up to your wedding. The cost of this day is included in the Administration Fee. We understand that for some of you it will mean coming quite a distance but we believe there is real value in gathering everyone together in this way and I would ask you to make this date a priority if at all possible.
